Letter [manuscript]. 1880.

The letter is in two typed copies. It is addressed to Charles Todd in answer to his request for details of Knuckey's meeting with Alexander Hume in 1872. Hume claimed to have met a survivor of the 1848 Leichhardt Expedition, Adolf Classen, living with a tribe of Aboriginals in the MacDonnell Ranges. Knuckey did not believe Hume, having found several discrepancies in his account. He gives his opinion that Leichhardt's last camp was on the Thomson River.
